About

I'm a Computer Engineering student at King Saud University working at the intersection of defense technology, computer vision, and embedded systems.

Most of what I know, I learned by building. Two registered patents. Gold medals at Geneva Inventions 2025 and ITEX 2024. Most recently, 2nd place nationally at Defensethon 2026 with Siyaj — a distributed counter-drone perimeter my teammate and I designed and built in three weeks on about $455 of parts.

I care about the why underneath systems — the mechanics below the abstraction — and I work end to end: architecture, hardware, firmware, vision models, integration. Right now that means an AI drone-tracking gimbal running on a Jetson Orin Nano, and RAPTOR, a solo smart-targeting project.

I'm president of the AI Club at KSU and a core engineer at Resha, an early-stage startup. Long term, I'm building toward Saudi Arabia's sovereign defense technology base under Vision 2030.

Siyaj · Distributed Counter-UAS Perimeter System

A swarm of low-cost autonomous ground robots that detect, classify, and recommend engagement against hostile drones at 1 km standoff from critical infrastructure — with a human authorizing every shot.

The Problem

Saudi air defense (THAAD, Patriot, NASAMS) was built for ballistic missiles and crewed aircraft. The threat that has repeatedly reached Saudi infrastructure — Abqaiq 2019, Ras Tanura 2026 — is cheap loitering munitions flying at 50–500 m: under high-tier radar coverage and outside the economics of kinetic interceptors. Siyaj adds the missing layer between point defense and the asset.

How It Works

Each node is a small tracked ground robot with three independent sensing channels — vision (YOLOv8 classifier trained on Sammad, Qasef, Mohajer, and Shahed-136 platform families), 24 GHz mmWave radar (HiLink LD2450), and RF detection (Flipper Zero, 300–900 MHz + nRF24L01+, 2.4 GHz). Nodes coordinate over a peer-to-peer mesh with target handoff and deduplication. Engagement is never autonomous — the system stops at the trigger and waits for a human operator.

RAPTOR · Smart Targeting System

A solo smart-targeting system for unguided munitions, owned end to end from architecture through prototyping. Started February 2026. No specs published yet — this is active research.

AI Detection & Tracking Gimbal

End-to-end vision-to-actuation pipeline: detection → tracking → gimbal actuation. A camera sees a target; the system moves to follow it. Started May 2026.
